I take flight – Interwoven Trope

We are woven together

I take flight

I take flight, knowing not what awaits me.
I’m filled with the flippant and naïve fantasy youth and inexperience affords.
Pridefully gleaming, glowing as the loaned light of others passes through me
Declaring with steadfast assurance that my journey will be pernicious and perilous
But that with my shining surface and dangling string I will fly right.
But deep within I am afraid.

I take flight, knowing not what awaits me.
Pursuant of ardent adventure, avoiding acrimony and arduous misdirection
I float off balance, uncontrolled in my wobbly bobbly bobble headed way
Dipping dangerously with the depressive pressure of darkened skies
That buffet me with the unseen forces of reliable and constant chaos.
Aimless emptiness finds me, but this comes as no surprise.

I take flight, knowing not what awaits me.
But this time I tie my fluttering and insignificant string to yours with a no nonsense knot.
I swell in the ravishing and radiant warmth you bring, sag and wilt in the chill of neglect
and rise with the creased corners of your eyes or the curving lilting tilt of your lullaby’s sighs.
Alternating in the intertwined ebb and flow of who leads who, we are woven together
In defiant spite of whatever worldly woes we’ll weather, we take flight, knowing not what awaits us.
