If You Can, Get It On

It’s all random. (Or is it?)

I got sick last week and missed most of Thursday and Friday from work so I wouldn’t get my fellow employees sick. I’ve got one resource who does the bulk of the work for me and I really didn’t want him to get sick by my selfishness so I stayed away. We both showed up yesterday and he said he wasn’t feeling great and might go home early. Poor guy got sick without me.

So he was gone today.

I won’t lie, I enjoyed not having to come in to work late last week. I also wished I were home all day today and yesterday. I thought I was getting better on Saturday, felt a lot better and wasn’t too congested, so Sunday morning I went for a bike ride. It was short, only 18 miles and like 1300 feet of climbing … but it wreaked havoc on my respiratory system and didn’t feel altogether pleasant out on the bike. So I was coughing Sunday evening, all day Monday and today as well.

I’m rambling but I’ve got a lot on my mind and I can’t talk about it here. Instead of telling you more about the inner workings of this particular flu (and let’s be honest, nobody wants to hear about that) I’ll err on the side of brevity and say that hopefully in a week or two I’ll be less mired in the muddled morass of my mind.

Until then, if you can, Get it on.
